San Antonio Concrete Driveway and Sidewalk Contractors
The first step is framing out the area where the new concrete will go. Our skilled crew uses sturdy wooden forms to outline the shape of the new driveway and sidewalk. These forms act like big molds that will hold the wet concrete in place until it dries and hardens.
In the picture you can see the framing precisely maps out where the new driveway will run alongside the house down to the street. The forms for the sidewalk portion branch off creating a path leading up to the front door. Every inch is carefully measured to ensure the new concrete meets city codes and looks great.
With the wooden forms all secured in their proper positions, the next step is laying down a solid gravel base. This grainy foundation provides excellent drainage so water won't pool under the concrete. It also adds structural strength when the heavy concrete is poured on top.
Once all the prep work is completed, a big concrete truck will rumble up and release its load of newly mixed cement into the framed areas. The crew will then spread and smooth out the concrete using long straight-edged tools.
After a period of drying and curing, the frames are removed leaving behind a fresh, new driveway and sidewalk made from reinforced concrete. This durable material will last for decades with just minor maintenance like occasional cleaning and sealing.
